The room I had was lovely and spacious. Also had a little coffee/tea machine in the room. Food was very nice from the bar. There was a good choice at breakfast. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Wow! Our stay was incredible! The staff was friendly and always helpful! And they even surprised us with a free room upgrade as we enquired about it for our little man to have his own sleeping area in our room. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Will most likely be looking at stay at village hotels moving forward.

A very pleasant hotel, well presented and good location. The only issue I have is small but important. Guests have to pay for parking, even at the weekend. It’s as,all point but when spending over 150 for a family room, parking should be gratis in my opinion. If premier inn can do it, so can the Hilton group. I’m sure there’s a reason, but it’s not given.
Lovely rooms with ice cold air con, great restaurant... but I was overcharged by £10 and when I queried it I was told it was a bar bill. I had gone straight to my room and ordered nothing other than room service. The staff just shrugged and said she didn't know what it was for, but it's a bar bill, expecting me to settle. It was another member if staff that stepped in and suggested she checked the receipts that I had signed for and that didn't show the excess £10. Ok, so it's just ten quid, but what if that happens regularly?!! I don't want to have to triple check my bill on every visit!

Stayed a couple of nights. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful when asked anything. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Enjoyed the breakfasts. Maybe a little more variety needed but everything was nicely presented. Would recommend.

Just had an amazing lunch here after visiting our aunt. Good portion sizes with excellent choice of food. Highly recommend the ploughman's. Child and dog friendly, and very clean. Will definitely be going back!
Very pleasant old village pub just outside Swindon, with good beer, good food and a friendly bar team. Garden and a large marquee, plenty of room for kids to run around. Always a good place to get a nice lunch. Nothing posh or pretentious, pub food, frozen chips, but... Free range eggs. Proper thick slices of dry ham with real flavour, not tasteless water injected factory ham sliced to nothing and left to sweat under plastic.

Also Sunday carvery. - wear a cardigan / jumper - can be abit cool in the dining area . Great place for food.

A return visit but once again a pleasure!! Service great, food really tasty, healthy options and great choice for the children. Brilliant pub to eat or simply just relax with a drink, Dan and Tracey are amazing i have no idea how they manage to do it, its a very hard place to beat in every way. John and Family
A lot of pubs could learn valuable lessons from The Tawny. The staff welcome you they want to serve you they are polite. The food was great too, I also like the fact the chef brought the food out. A very pleasant experience fully recommend.

Enjoyed our stay over Christmas. A base for visiting family. Comfortable rooms with all you need, and a great franchise restaurant attached.
Always good for a swift stop. Comfy, large room and delicious breakfast. In, sleep, eat, gone. Highly recommended.
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
